All Summit schools are experiencing record numbers of students interested in school performing arts programs. The accomplishments of Summit students over the past decade have been extraordinary and continue to exceed expectations.
Summit recognizes the positive impact that performing arts programs have on students, and the school administration remains committed to these programs. Yet aside from the salaries of our district's small theatre arts staff, these programs are funded entirely through ticket sales and donations. The Summit Performing Arts Resource Committee (SPARC) was created in 1996 to ease the funding gap. As the number of participants continues to grow, and school budgets continue to be cut, outside support for theatre arts and forensics programs is increasingly crucial.
