Grants
During the 2010-2011 school year, the Summit Performing Arts Resource Committee (SPARC) issued more than $25,000 in grants. These grants included funding for theatrical productions and “Theater Week” workshops at all 5 Summit elementary schools, LCJSMS and SHS. SPARC grants also helped finance forensics workshops and tournament fees at LCJSMS and SHS. In addition, at SHS, SPARC grants supported the film festival, 15 senior scholarships and the purchase of 7 new microphones.
SPARC Mary Snieckus Scholarship Fund
Each year, SPARC awards scholarships to eligible graduating students who have participated in Summit High School dramatic, musical or technical theatre or forensics programs, and have been accepted to a two or four year accredited college. The SPARC Mary Snieckus Scholarship fund was created to honor the memory of Mary Snieckus, a Summit resident and advocate for the performing arts.
